Kpanlogo (pronounced "PAHN-loh-goh"), also called Tswreshi or Treshi, is a type of barrel drum used in Kpanlogo music. It is played with both hands. The drum comes from the Ga people in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, West Africa.
Kpanlogo is the name of a rhythm played on the Tswreshi drum. This rhythm was created in the 1950s after Ghana gained independence and became widely popular. It is now known as Ghana’s signature rhythm. Because of this, the Tswreshi drum is often called the Kpanlogo drum.
Kpanlogo drums are traditionally played by a group of drummers. They often use six Kpanlogo drums of different sizes. Other drums, such as Djembe, Dunun, and Gankogui, are also played alongside the Kpanlogo drums.
