Doshpuluur
The doshpuluur (Tuvan: дошпулуур, [dɔʃpuˈluːr], Russian pronunciation: [dəʃpʊˈluːr]) is a long-necked Tuvan lute made from wood, usually pine or larch. The doshpuluur is played by plucking and strumming. There are two different versions of the doshpuluur.
Yatga
The yatga (Mongolian: ᠶᠠᠲᠤᠭᠠ, romanized: yatug-a, Khalkha dialect: ятга, yatga; pronounced [ˈjɑtʰəq]) is a traditional plucked zither from Mongolia. The yatga can be different in size, tuning, number of bridges, and number of strings. Its body is a long wooden box with one end slanted downward.
Igil
The igil, also called ikhel (Mongolian: ихэл, Tuvan: игил), is a two-stringed musical instrument from Tuva. It is played by bowing the strings. In Western Mongolia, it is sometimes called “ikili.” The instrument’s neck and sound box are usually made from a single piece of pine or larch.
Morin khuur
The morin khuur (Mongolian: морин хуур, written in the Latin alphabet as morin khuur; Mandarin Chinese: 马头琴, which means “horsehead fiddle”) is a traditional Mongolian bowed string instrument. It is one of the most important musical instruments for the Mongol people and is seen as a symbol of Mongolia. The morin khuur is listed as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Sanxian
The sanxian (Chinese: 三弦, literally “three strings”) is a traditional Chinese musical instrument with three strings. It has a long, fretless fingerboard, and its body is usually made from snake skin stretched over a rounded rectangular hollow body. The instrument comes in different sizes for various uses.
Liuqin
The liuqin (Chinese: 柳琴; pinyin: liǔqín) is a Chinese musical instrument with three, four, or five strings. It has a body shaped like a pear. Its sound is much higher than other Chinese plucked string instruments, and it is used in both orchestral music and solo performances.
Ruan(instrument)
The ruan (Chinese: 阮; pinyin: ruǎn) is a traditional Chinese plucked string instrument. It resembles a lute with a fretted neck, a round body, and four strings. The strings were once made of silk, but since the 1900s, they have been made of steel, with flat-wound strings used for the lower ones.
Zhongruan
The zhongruan (Chinese: 中阮; pinyin: zhōngruǎn; lit. “tenor ruan”) is a Chinese plucked string instrument. It has a straight neck with 24 frets on the fingerboard and 4 strings.

Pipa
The pipa (Chinese: 琵琶; pinyin: pípá; Wade–Giles: p’i-p’a) is a traditional Chinese musical instrument that is played by plucking its strings. It is sometimes called the “Chinese lute” and has a wooden body shaped like a pear. The instrument can have between 12 and 31 frets, which are the raised lines on the neck that help players find notes.
